How it works

From application to payout.

Here's exactly what happens — start to finish — when you join DetailChimps and start running jobs.

Onboarding

  1. 1. Create your pro account

    Sign up as a pro, set your business name, bio, and service area (cities across Canada — up to 50).

  2. 2. Submit your kit verification

    Upload labeled photos of your soaps, microfibers, tools, and rig so we can confirm everything meets the DetailChimps spec sheet (or matches a preferred-partner equivalent).

  3. 3. Background check

    We run a standard background check via our verified provider — or you can upload manual documents for admin review. Most checks clear within 24–48 hours.

  4. 4. Connect Stripe

    Stripe Connect handles your identity, banking, and tax forms (1099 in the US, T4A in Canada). Takes about 5 minutes.

  5. 5. Go online

    Open the pro app, flip the toggle, set your max drive radius, and start receiving job pings in your area.

On the job

  1. Job ping

    When a customer books in your zone, the nearest available pro gets pinged with the address, service tier, ETA, and payout estimate. You have 60 seconds to accept.

  2. En route

    Navigate via the in-app map. The customer sees a live ETA. Tap 'Arrived' when you're on site.

  3. Before photos

    Capture the vehicle from required angles. The app guides you — bad lighting or missing angles are flagged before you start.

  4. Service

    Work the tier scope. You can add approved upsells (decon, interior shampoo, sealant) and the customer confirms in-app.

  5. After photos & AI approval

    Capture the after shots. Our AI checks paint, glass, wheels, and interior against the before photos. Pass = instant payout release. Borderline = quick human review.

  6. Rating & tips

    Customer rates 1–5 stars and tips in-app. You keep 100% of the tip on top of your 80% take-home.
